Mad about Plaid… and checks

The classic fall pattern is brighter and bolder than before. I’ve seen it almost everywhere, from preppy youthful looks to “hunting club” outfits and even on cocktail dresses and delicate blouses.

A statement coat is a must have this fall so you could opt for a gorgeous plaid one. My choice is the blue and brown knee length coat from Alexandre Herchcovitch, but shhh... don’t tell anyone.

Another must have is a dress. I mean every season is a good season to buy a new dress but this fall you should buy a “Britt” one. A chic, simply cut, dress in plaid will do wonders. I love how the traditional red plaid looks on a flirty dress. Gray is a strong trend, too, and does look good on almost everyone.

There are also patterned separates: pencil or full skirts, pants, mannish shirts or delicate blouses or even suits like the one in red tartan from Kenzo.
So, there is plaid for everyone from clothing pieces to shoes and handbags and even chic accessories like scarves and hats.

I'm not very tall, and not very skinny. But I do love fall pattern. What can I do? I want to wear chic coats like those you described, but i'm afraid I'll look silly dressed like that. Please help me.

Hi! Why do you think you will look silly? Plaids and checks are a stylish pattern. If you're not very tall and not very thin as you described look for a knee length trapeze coat. It suits every body shape. Also look for a short sleeved one; short sleeves, elbow sleeves or three quarter sleeves make you look taller. And, finally,if you're afraid of bold contrasts try a subtle pallete like the brown/blue coat from Alexandre Herchcovitch, my favourite :). Or a redish one like that from Jean Paul Gaultier.

Hope this was helpful :) i'm looking forward for more comments from you.
