Stylish City: vintage denim, summer leather and 70s style

The summer of 2010 was a showcase of retro looks  and saw the return of minimal chic and feminine elegance.

Faded, bleached denim was one of the biggest trends this summer and not only in the practical form of denim shorts but also jackets, shirts and dresses. Looks so fresh when paired with romantic ruffles and simple hairstyle.

Boho, Brogues and Bold trousers

Want to see what runway trends translated well into street fashion? First is the modern-boho look, well actually one aspect of this look: the fur gilet, which is now everywhere. But there are also other boho details like ethnic or flower prints, folksy knits, fringes, cross-body bags and flare denim jeans.

Spring fashion in the streets

I have to say this: I just love to see how people pull together great outfits for ordinary days. That is why I constantly looking into street style blogs. Regarding fashion trends, the street takes on some and recycles others in countless creative ways.

Who said leggings went out of fashion? Well here they are, graphic print leggings along with knee socks are making the transition between seasons in a playful puckish style.

Fashion trends from the world's streets

I've been doing a little street fashion research lately, which I absolutely adore doing, and several fashion trends popped up. I think I'll make this a weekly post, what do you think?

1. Denim jeans

High-waist skinny jeans in dark blue/navy. I love the super high-waist looks on the New York girl, in fact I love her entire outfit: the leather jacket, the gray boots, dark shades...just lovely.

Stylish girls on Mariahilfer Strasse

Hi folks! It's good to be back. I hope you had a happy holiday. I spent mine abroad and wandered a couple of days around Vienna. It is such a wonderful city with a lot of places worth visiting. I only wish I had more time to spend there.

On Christmas Eve there was a lot of to-and-fro on Mariahilfer Strasse, the city's longest and most lively shopping street. Everyone was there, allegorically speaking. I heard as many languages while visiting the Schönbrunn castle or the St Stephan's Platz. This was great, in a Babylonian way.

What do girls wear these days?

Browsing for street fashion blogs is my recent hobby as their pics are such a tremendous inspiration for me. Important names in the fashion world seek for new design ideas in street style and as Coco Chanel said: "A fashion that does not reach the streets is not a fashion". Indeed how can we speak of a fashion trend if no one wears it?
Anyway, here is what I found. Fall/Winter 2007 trend no. 1: colored tights. This is such a cheerful look. I wish I had enough courage to wear them.

Strolling in Paris

I'm planning a trip to Paris for next summer so I'm in search for chic look, so I'll fit in and not look like a tourist. Street fashion blogs are a real help in this matter. And here is what I found: colorful printed dresses, low heel shoes or wedges and long strap purses describe chic summery Parisians outfits. Are you on your way to the city of lights? Then you should check Face Hunter, Le Club Du Style or Dans Paris.
