After a short look at this month's red carpet events before the Oscars I can say that glamour has exceeded Hollywood's boundaries.

Keira Knightley (Valentino), Marion Cotillard (Chanel), Emily Blunt (Marc Bouwer) and Kate Hudson (Dior).

A strong trend in fashion this season is the forties style. Old Hollywood glamour is being revived by A-list designers such as:Alberta Ferretti, Blumarine, Bottega Veneta, Calvin Klein, Dior, Dsquared2, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Jil Sander, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Nina Ricci, Ralph Lauren, Roberto Cavalli, Versace.

High-street stores and online shops offer their affordable versions of skirted suits with over-the-knee pencil skirts, high-waist pleated or A-line skirts , fitted jackets with oversized shoulders and accentuated waists, wide-leg flannel and tweed trousers worn with bow-blouses, fedora hats and berets, trench-like redingotes reminding of the elegant and brave Lauren Bacall, Katherine Hepburn and Ingrid Bergman.

I have to say that as a big fan of the Sex And The City HBO show (I saw all episodes more than once) I'm looking forward to see SATC: The Movie which will be released on May 30th, 2008. Images from the set are already available on the internet such as these from InStyle online magazine.

When I'm dieing to see an upcoming movie I watch all trailers and photos and by the time the movie is released it's not all that new and fresh for me so that is why I m a little disappointed I can see this pictures before the release. On the other hand, InStyle editors wrote: "For those of you who want Sex and the City: The Movie to be fresh and new, look away!". Ha-ha! Are they kidding me? How can I not look?

For almost two weeks (May 16-27) Cannes Film Festival 2007 was also a runway show bringing up an army of stars on the French coast. The film festival highlighted many of this spring trends but also launched others – my favorite being beautiful draped gowns in golden yellow and silvery grey. Angelina Jolie arrived at “Ocean's Thirteen” premiere dressed in a wonderful canary yellow silk gown by Ungaro Haute Couture. Helen Mirren wowed the crowd once again; she wore a flowing yellow freesia chiffon dress and Bar Rafaeli, Leonardo Di Caprio’s ex girlfriend, looked like a golden goddess.

Love Story's major star Ali McGraw is one great inspiration for the 70s look. Wear a white turtleneck jersey top with wide-leg blue jeans and platform sandals. A woven leather accessory, belt or handbag, adds a hippie chic feel but the most crucial element is a laid-back, relaxed attitude.

Rachel Weisz looked wonderful in a light gold gown by Vera Wang and Cartier jewels completed her perfect look. Penelope Cruz, beautiful and stylish as ever wore a nude-pink full feathery gown signed by Versace.

I know I’ve already written about Audrey Hepburn but it seems that her fashion style has never been so fresh and modern.
