Leather sweatshirts trend fall-winter 2013

According to the biggest online fashion forecaster Trendstop, the reinvented winter sweatshirt is one of the top trends for this season, keeping its “dna” the simple crewneck silhouette and the rib-knit collar and cuffs while changing the traditional cotton jersey with modern materials: leather, fur and textured wool.

When art meets fashion

When art meets fashion wonderful designs emerge. For spring 2013 season fashion creatives came up with painterly motifs by themselves or teamed up with visual artists to create stunning prints that make clothes look like wearable paintings. If you want to spend on fashion this spring than you should definitely invest in an artistically printed clothing piece.

Mythical scarves from Gris Neutre

I don’t think I have seen lately something lovelier than these gorgeous silk scarves from Portuguese label Gris Neutre. Hermès, move over! Founded in 2010 by an illustrator-designer (Sara Bento de Castro), a fashion designer (Marisa Ferra) and an anthropologist (Joana Gonçalo Oliveira) under the “modest” name of Gris Neutre, this label offers luxury accessories of pure silk printed with elaborated imagery that celebrates nature and humanity.

SIX, London and 6 fashion bloggers: a shoe story

Footwear design studio SIX, London celebrated last month (November 2011) ten years of existence with a limited edition shoe collection in collaboration with six top international fashion bloggers. The company’s creative team chose their favorite fashion bloggers and asked them to imagine their ideal pair of shoes. The result is SIXby6bloggers collection, a covetable modern looking ensemble and very distinct, just like their creators. I love how each pair reflects the personality of each blog(ger).

Clothing gifts for your man

Yes he’s a grown up and makes decisions on his own although I know you still decide on your man’s wardrobe. Making him look like coming off the pages of a style magazine is your secret ambition, isn’t it? From now on look no further than online store Ssense that gathers the coolest labels in both womenswear and menswear from all over the fashion world.

Forward-thinking designers are alphabetically listed from Acne to Z Brand so it really isn’t hard to find your favorite. Swedish brand Cheap Monday is one of my recent choices for its eco-conscious values and high-fashion, androgynous take on wardrobe basics like jeans, tops, sweaters, jackets and trousers.

Oak store has a lot to offer

I’m just drooling at the new goodies in store at Oak Nyc. I’ve always loved Oak’s fashion-forward, androgynous take on feminine wardrobe basics and if I were a filiform tall beauty it would be my dream store; but I can’t live without a glamour dress to fit my feminine curves.

Luckily, Oak's selection of coolest/edgiest booties, hobo bags and jewelry I’ve seen are a match for every body type. I’m in love with the cobra killer bag, from km rii and with the studded starburst bootie, $198.00, from Jeffrey Campbell. And don’t you just adore the white ball hobo bag from Olivia Harris that just goes perfect with the silver multi-chain bracelet, $124.00 from less?

Lady coats for winter 2009

As party season is almost here you will definitely need a stylish winter coat to wear over your festive dress. Romantic and military-chic are my top trends this winter so here are some great finds:

First is Cecilia Hammarborg’s capsule collection “Black River Falls” which includes some of the loveliest wool coats I’ve seen.

Independent Fashion: Style Server

I'm amazed at how many and wonderful fashion labels can be accessed through the internet. I'm glad I stumbled upon this online shop StyleServer that promotes independent designers, maybe you've been aware of it longer than I was, and, under its patronage (or maybe is the other way round) this great fashion and art blog: Bored&Beautiful. The shop is based in Berlin and it sells independent international labels, among which Adddress became my new favorite.

If I opened an eBay store

As I love a good bargain, I was browsing the other day through online stores and boutiques, looking for cheap designer jeans, something on sale, and I came across Merchandize Liquidators, a worldwide distributor for overstock merchandise and not only, offering wholesale prices. These guys supply wholesale designer clothing from high end department stores closeouts, so the apparel and the shoes also are all first quality.
They sell jeans, sweaters, tops, pants, dresses, skirts, sweat pants and jackets from brands like Liz Claiborne, Ralph Lauren, BCBG, Guess and many others. What got my attention, though, was the jeans lot that includes brands like Diesel, True Religion, Seven for All Mankind, Paper Denim, G star, Wrangler, Lee, Citizens, Ernest Sewn, Rock & Republic and also big designer names such as DKNY and Calvin Klein. I did put my eyes on a pair of stretch denim shorts in a lovely indigo wash from DKNY but, unfortunately for me, they offer only the wholesale price for it.

Enchanted

This is not about the recent flick from Walt Disney (though I must admit I was thinking a bit at McDreamy) but about these lovely illustrations and jewelry I found at etsy.com. I've always been a sucker for fairy tales and for everything with a magical charm.

Window shopping in Vienna

While in Vienna I did a little window shopping among other 'special agent' Stylish Girl duties. I'm really interested how fashion retailers can capture the brand essence; I mean the store's window plays a big part in the whole marketing strategy. I now remember that one of my favorite classes was merchandising (mainly because I could make use of my colored crayons but shhh...don't tell anyone else).

I found lovely Christmas decorating ideas at Leiner. Useful color themes for future home decor projects: white and gold, black-blue-green and yellow-orange-brown.

Christmas color theme: Black and White

Black and white is my favorite color scheme (non-color, in fact). It looks incredible stylish and you can avoid sobriety by adding golden or silver small details. I adore minimalist looks so I'll keep this décor theme in mind for my future home decorating ventures.

Jewelry Trend: Safety Pins

There's an interesting trend in jewelry right now: safety pins in brass, silver, gold, embellished with funky, retro charms or incrusted with precious diamonds like this safety pin ring from the Vivienne Westwood Hardcore Diamonds
