Romanian Fashion Week: Ludmila Corlateanu
Ludmila Corlateanu was one of the up-and-coming designers staged at Romanian Fashion Week. Originating from Kishinev, the Moldavian Republic, she has now established her label in Bucharest making her way in the fashion business after studying clothing design in her home country and at Istituto Marangoni, Milan.
Her fall/winter 2008/09 collection is a small tribute to subtle elegance suitable both for young girls and for grown-up women who are in a search for effortless, timeless chic.
The simple Lolita styling and the narrow color palette set the mood. The pieces were inspired by the Soviet era school uniform, hence the mix of rigorous cuts and fabrics such as crisp white lace, wool toile, tweed, heavy fur appliqué (eco friendly synthetic fur) and soft cotton velvet.

Thank you, Stylish Girl for your review!
You're welcome! Congrats on your beautiful collection, it was one of the best at RFW. I wish your brand lives a long, happy life :)
Hi! How are you doing? Wow.. I love the simple lolita style.. it looks really pretty.. i am a huge fan of lolita dresses (the doll dresses).. because they look so cute.
** I have added you on my links, care for link exchange?
Take care,

I think they look a little russian but very nice. We all like simple dont we, the simpler the better. Great pics as well.
I love the minimalist look, they are the right designs for the current times where excessiveness is frowned upon.
What a fabulous collection! These new designs give the fashion industry a fresh (and much needed) new look... one that many of us can simply wear as is or ad our own little something to. Thanks for the post!
I agree, looks a little cold war to me. I'm not sure I like the frumpy grey look. Flirty and fun is more my style.
well, that was the hole idea: the inspiration was the soviet school uniform, only a softer version of it.
But thank you for the feedback!
;))
