Get the look

Flapper style is one of my favorite moments in fashion so I'm glad that this season designers paid more attention to it. I was particularly inspired by the modern-flapper look Rodarte showed on its spring 2008 collection: I love the floppy hat and the sheer, loose clothes. Gladiator heels and fingerless gloves bring the needed modern vibe.

Marc Jacobs is one of my favorite designers, not necessarily for his designs, which aren’t that brilliant, but for the impeccable styling of his shows and for the straightforward American spirit he sends forth.

Marc is a great stylist and I always find out new ways to wear basic wardrobe pieces or new color combinations. His Fall 2007 collection has a retro vibe, straight lines reminding of twenties Art Deco fashion and of the late eighties high society. Or so it seems to me.

I especially like this outfit because of that spicy red leather pleated skirt. I looked for a similar one but all I could come with was a straight red leather skirt I found on eBay.

I wrote in my early post that 70s have come back in fashion. What better proof than this picture of Kate Moss working the "Annie Hall" androgynous look, the main character of the same name cult movie back in 1977. Of course, Kate adds a bit of personal flair to the outfit: modern pieces like short shorts and ankle boots.

I was never a John Galliano fan, it sort of creeps me out- he’s too theatrical for my taste- but some of his designs can be easily worn and this is one of those.
