A trend to keep: the Maxi-Dress

As opposed to last years mini length this summer maxi dress was on everyone's mind, both loved and hated. First maxi dresses appeared in major spring/summer 2008 collections and then they were seen on all "it" girls of the moment. While a one-color dress looks too occasion wear or beachwear (if it's jersey), a printed maxi-dress is the easiest way to an elegant look for daywear. Romantic, flowing, printed long-dresses seems to be this summer's hit and not only.

A shocking pink spring

Resort and couture collections also highlighted color trends for future seasons. Next spring it's pretty sure that if you won't wrap yourself in pink at least you'll get a glossy pair of shoes. From sweet lovely blush hues to fuchsia, pink was all around..

Resort 2009: Polished black

The sophisticated black has always been a strong fashion statement, the symbol of authority, high class and über sexiness. But, as resort 2009 collections show, simple black doesn't do it anymore.

Resort 2009: Lovely chic

Three favorite collections shown at New York during Resort 2009 fashion week dazzled me with their lovely, feminine sophistication note. First of all I love their chromatic palettes: white and off-white, grey, rose, crimson red, midnight blue, navy and black and the subtle refinement of the delicate details: ruffles, draping and other embellishments. These are clothes to keep in your wardrobe forever and not just for one holiday.

Carolina Herrera, recently granted with Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award at CFDA, brought out an impeccable chic collection, as always, though with a cheerful, breezy note, perfect for resort: orchid print, wide-leg fluid trousers, sheath dresses with delicate frills, long gowns with bold prints...simply stunning.
