Style on a budget: Rodarte spring/summer 2008

Flapper style is one of my favorite moments in fashion so I'm glad that this season designers paid more attention to it. I was particularly inspired by the modern-flapper look Rodarte showed on its spring 2008 collection: I love the floppy hat and the sheer, loose clothes. Gladiator heels and fingerless gloves bring the needed modern vibe.

Jazzy Mood at Harper's Bazaar

The winter 2007/2008 issue of Harper's Bazaar Romania (it's only the second issue yet) features a photo shoot dedicated to the most fashionable and precious years. Glamour is a must and so is the nonchalant pose. Beautiful fluid outfits and luxurious details.

Fashion muse for spring 2008: The Flapper

The Flapper look continues to be a strong trend in fashion. Designers looked for inspiration not only in Coco Chanel's constantly promoted style, but also in the mysterious figures of silent flicks or in the looks of angelic Mia Farrow playing Daisy Buchanan (The Great Gatsby-1974).
From the tennis player attire to flamboyant evening dresses the spring runways brought to live the jazz age feeling.

I was wondering when this extraordinary era in fashion history will come to designers attention. This spring the flapper dress is a romantic tribute for the roaring 20’s.
